Handler Connected Integrations

In Handle Chat, each Handler can inherit default integration connections or use connections you select for it. Its creator can choose a specific account for an integration, and can grant more than one account when a code tool needs to work across them.

For example, two Handlers might use different Shopify stores, while one Handler needs both stores to prepare a combined report.

Open Handlers, select your Handler, then open its Integrations section. Only the Handler’s creator can change its connections; other viewers cannot see its explicit connection details.

Default Integrations

The Use default integrations toggle controls inheritance:

• On: The Handler inherits a default connection for integrations you have not explicitly selected for it.
• Off: It can use only the connections explicitly listed for it.

If no connection for that integration is marked Primary yet, the Handler may still inherit a default. To add a second account alongside it, first choose that same default account as the Handler’s primary connection.

Managing Connections

The Connected integrations list shows the accounts you have explicitly given this Handler. One connection per integration can be Primary: code tools use it when they do not name an alias. An additional connection needs an alias so a code tool can name it.

Choose Add connection to open the picker. If an integration has no explicit primary yet, select the account it already uses with Use as primary. The picker closes after this choice; reopen Add connection and the account is now marked Current primary. For a different connection with an alias, choose Add alongside to grant it without changing the primary. That option only appears if both conditions are met.

To change the primary account, open the three-dot menu on the integration’s row, choose Switch, then select Use as primary for the other connection. This changes the account used by tools that do not name an alias; it is not the way to add a second account alongside the first.

To remove an explicit connection, choose Unlink from its three-dot menu. If you unlink the primary while additional connections remain, the oldest remaining connection becomes primary. Check which account is now primary before running existing tools. If default inheritance is on and no explicit connection remains for that integration, the Handler may inherit its default again.
